NITT To Synergise With NADDC

NITT to synergise with NADDC

The Director General and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, FCILT, has called for strengthened collaboration with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Abuja, particularly in the areas of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies, technicians’ certification, training standardisation, as well as quality assurance, safety, and manpower readiness across Nigeria.

Dr. Farah made the call during a courtesy visit to the NADDC Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday. He highlighted NITT’s core mandates, ongoing programmes, and its unwavering commitment to CNG conversion, training, and safety education in line with the Federal Government’s clean energy initiative.

According to him, “While NADDC remains the regulatory authority and custodian of standards, NITT serves as the training arm responsible for competency development and certification. Our partnership will therefore ensure that every CNG conversion activity within the country is carried out by NITT-certified technicians, and that certification becomes an integral component of NADDC’s vehicle inspection and compliance checklist.”

Speaking further, Dr. Farah who was accompanied by Dr. Joshua Odeleye, Director of Transport Technology Centre (TTC), NITT expressed optimism that the synergy between both institutions would drive Nigeria towards a future where mobility is safer, cleaner, and smarter.

In his response, the Director General of NADDC, Mr. Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, welcomed the initiative and emphasised the importance of deepening collaboration with NITT to achieve the national objectives of sustainable transport and automotive development.
