NITT provides training in all modes of transport leading to the award of certificates, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Transport and Logistics. We have been in the fore front of providing Transport and Logistics Education, Training, Research and Consultancy Services. In its over Thirty (30) years of existence, the Institute has contributed significantly to the professionalization of the transport and logistics industry not only in Nigerian but also in the West African Sub region. We combine human ingenuity and technological innovations to develop the capacity of the workforce to make the transport and logistics industry more effective and efficient to stimulate economic growth and development.

Professional Training & Research In All Modes Of Transport

The Institute is mandated by its Enabling Act to specifically provide training in all modes of transport. It also serves as a Transport Intelligence Centre for monitoring transport and logistics systems and provides equipment and facilities for the encouragement, promotion, and conduct of applied research in all modes of transport

Air Transport

Air transport is an important enabler to achieving economic growth and development. Air transport facilitates integration into the global economy and provides vital connectivity on a national, regional, and international scale. It helps generate trade, promote tourism, and create employment opportunities.

Rail Transport

Rail transport is a greener inland mode, in that its consumption of energy per unit load per km is lower than road modes. Rail transport has comparative advantages in carrying heavy bulk traffic on specific itineraries over long distances. For instance, a 10-car freight train can carry as much cargo as 600 trucks.

Road Transport

Road transport is the most commonly used mode of transportation in Nigeria today. Road traffic depends on the pattern of human settlements, accounting for more than 90 per cent of the sub-sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Maritime Transport

Maritime transport is the backbone of the global economy, accounting for over 90% of cross-border trade. And like most other industries, shipping is being rapidly transformed by a range of technology innovations that aim to make operations greener, cheaper, and more efficient.

Pipeline Transport

Pipelines are a more economical form of transportation than rail or tuck, and are usually secure within a nation or between friendly neighbors. Physical pipeline development consists of several logical steps such as route selection, regulatory application, design, maintenance, construction, and commissioning.

Skill Acquisition

At our prestigious Institute, we have highly trained and dedicated professionals who offer International standard courses on Transport Skills Acquisition that are fully recognized and accredited anywhere in the world
