“I congratulate the Institute for achieving a very important step towards the digitisation process. We look forward to harnessing the full benefits of this project. From today, all communications within the Institute will be digital-based.”
These were the words of the Director General/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, in an official email addressed to all Directors and Heads of Units. This statement marked the official launch of the Institute’s Paperless System on Monday, 14th July, 2025.
Describing the new system as “a big step into the future,” Dr. Farah reaffirmed NITT’s commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and leadership in Nigeria’s transport sector. He emphasized that the initiative is not just a technological upgrade but a strategic move to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and promote environmental sustainability.
Earlier in the event, the Director of the Library and Information Services Department, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Nwanosike, hailed the launch as a historic milestone for the Institute. She noted that preparations for the transition to a paperless system had been underway since the previous year.
The event’s highlight was a symbolic gesture by the DG/CE, who sent a live email from his laptop to all Management staff, demonstrating the system’s functionality. The message was received and acknowledged in real time by recipients, underscoring the system’s efficiency.
In his closing remarks, the Institute’s Registrar, Dr. Maina W.A. Tarfa, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
The launch of NITT’s Paperless System reflects the Institute’s unwavering drive toward digital transformation and improved service delivery. It sets a new standard for administrative processes and positions NITT as a model of forward-thinking leadership in the public sector.
