NITT Receives Emir, Matriculate Students

The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, has matriculated the 2023/2024 academic session National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID) and National Vocational Certificate (NVC) students. The ceremony, which took place today at the Institute’s headquarters in Zaria, was graced by the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, among other dignitaries.

In his goodwill message, the Emir commended the DG/CE, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah for the gargantuan infrastructural development NITT had recorded under his watch. “I’ve seen significant changes since I last visited NITT”, the Emir stated. To the matriculants, the Royal Father said: “I am delighted to welcome you to this prestigious institution, where your journey to academic excellence and personal development begins.”

Declaring the ceremony open, the Director General/Chief Executive, NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah thanked His Royal Highness for honouring the occasion with his venerable presence. The NITT boss assured the matriculants of the Institute’s commitment to providing them with world-class education and training. Speaking further, he charged them to be good ambassadors of the Institute by conducting themselves admirably and excelling in their chosen careers.

Speaking through a representative, the Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, who sponsored several of the matriculating students, noted that he recognized the critical importance of skills acquisition, vis-à-vis the menace of unemployment, adding that “by next session another batch of students will be sponsored.”

His Royal Highness later commissioned the newly constructed ICT Centre, as well as toured the Institute’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Workshop. Radiating with royal splendour and beaming with unmistakable satisfaction with the ongoing CNG conversion work, the Emir said: “Today is one of the finest days of my life. I’m very happy to witness the conversion of petrol vehicle to CNG here at NITT. This is remarkable’’. The Royal Father then pledged to send some petrol vehicles from the Emirate fleet for conversion to CNG.
