The new Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, has today paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria.
Welcoming the NCAT Rector, the Director General/Chief Executive, NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, stated that he was particularly proud to receive the Rector, a former staff of the Institute.
Dr. Farah observed, “that one of us is heading an institution like NCAT is a testament to the capacity we have in NITT.”
The NITT boss also stressed the indispensable importance of collaboration in the contemporary world. He, therefore, called for the strengthening of the existing partnership, beginning with the reactivation of the Collaboration Committee, which would identify the areas of needs of both organisations, as well as harness their strengths.
In his remark, the Rector, NCAT, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, noted that his visit was sort of a homecoming. He recalled with nostalgia his time at NITT, stressing that NCAT and NITT shared a lot in common.
Speaking further, Dr. Ismaila observed that aside from synergizing on research and innovation, training and staff exchanges, NCAT would also like to emulate NITT’s infrastructural development.
In his words, ‘In the area of infrastructural development, we are trying to learn from NITT; we extoll the achievements of the DG in infrastructural development.”
Both NITT and NCAT Managements are unanimous on the need for a strengthened partnership between the two organisations.
The cordial working relationship was accentuated by the exchange of gifts between the two chief executives.
