The group was on a familiarization visit to the Institute to inspect the facilities put in place for the conversion of vehicles, and also sign an agreement to collaborate in converting vehicles to CNG in order to produce lower emissions in line with the present administration’s commitment to ensure energy security, drive utility, and cut high fuel costs.

In his words, NITT conducts basic research on the problems in the transport and logistics sector and initiates innovations in new technologies that will promote the Nigerian transport system.

“We keyed into the Autogas project a long time ago and with the present administration’s efforts to change from fossil fuel to cleaner fuels, we find it easier to key into the projects and programs of PCNGI”, the DG/CE said.

He further expressed satisfaction that PCNGI has recognized NITT’s efforts and was ready to give support, assuring them that NITT is a worthy partner, with its CNG conversion centres spread across the country.

The CFO of PCNGI, Ms. Halima Lawal, stated that the partnership between the two parties will be a symbiotic one, which will go a long way in providing Nigerians with cheaper alternative that will reduce transportation costs.

The highlight of the event was the conversion of a vehicle at the conversion centre and the inspection of some already converted vehicles.
