The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Delta State, Prof. Akpofure Rim Rukeh, has met the Director General/Chief Executive, NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, and NITT Management, to discuss possible areas of collaboration. The meeting took place at NITT’s Headquarters in Zaria today.
The VC who was accompanied by top Management of the university, noted that the request for partnership was precipitated by the monumental NITT facility at Effurun, Ughelli, Delta State. “On my way back from Effurun, I saw gigantic structures owned by NITT; and I said this is something we must look into”, the VC stated. And after a guided tour of NITT’s facilities, the VC asserted: “I’m impressed and excited.”
Speaking earlier, the DG/CE, who was represented by the Director, Training Department, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, expressed his delight over the visit, adding that the two Institutions had common interests. “We can partner on energy, environmental issues, safety, and technology. Speaking further, he said that the Institute “is championing the use of Auto Gas and we have trained some of our staff on critical areas of Auto Gas conversion.” Other areas of possible collaboration, according to the DG/CE, are training, research, staff exchanges and so on.
