The Bursar of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Abdulkadir Hassan Lanre, has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Accounting, by the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The award was contained in a Statement of Result issued by the School of Postgraduate Studies of the University, and followed by a convocation ceremony held at the University campus on the 27th of May, 2023.
Dr. Abdulkadir’s illustrious educational pursuit began at the University of Maiduguri, where he graduated in 1992 as the best overall Accountancy student, and consequently won the Afribank (Nig.) Plc Best Accountancy Student, UBA best overall student and Suleiman & Co best Taxation Student Prizes for his brilliant performance. Like every philomath, he had struck a delicate balance between academics, professionalism and career. Stretching his intellect to unimaginable heights, he studied for and acquired three different Master’s degrees from various institutions, that is, MBA, MTL (Master’s in Transport and Logistics) and MSc.
By the same token, undeterred by the daunting academic demands, Dr. Abdulkadir remained resolute, focused and dedicated to his official duties at NITT, where he rose (within just a decade) from Chief Accountant to the very top of his professional career as the Bursar of the Institute.
He also had a stint at Access Bank, Plc, Intercontinental Bank, Plc, and Society General Bank, to mention just a few.
Dr. Abdulkadir Hassan Lanre is also Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Fellow, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Fellow, Chartered Institute of Transport Administration, and Chartered Member, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
