The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, has held its first matriculation ceremony. The maiden matriculation ceremony was organised for National Innovation Diploma (NID) students.
Declaring the event open, Director General/Chief Executive of NITT, Dr. Bayero Saleh Farah, said: “the major objective of this matriculation exercise is to inform the matriculants of the fundamental principles, norms and values of our institute.” Dr. Farah further noted that “the introduction of NID programmes is to create opportunities for Nigerian youths to become self-employed and in turn employ others.”
He assured the matriculants that the serene and conducive environment coupled with state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories within the Institute would help them “discover and harness their potentials” and live their dreams. The NITT boss urged the matriculating students “to imbibe the ethics of hard work, discipline, humidity, diligence and perseverance.”
According to the DG /CE , the NITT would help realease the students’ hidden potentials as well as prepare them professionally , intellectually and ethically for the future. .
The highlight of the event was the taking of oath by the matriculating students.
